Nick Carter of The Backstreet Boys was consoled by his bandmates on stage in London on Sunday as the group performed for a packed concert. The emotional moment stunned the crowd just one day after his brother, Aaron Carter, passed away in California.

The Backstreet Boys paid tribute to Aaron during their Sunday night show at The O2 Arena in London. In videos shared on social media by fans who attended the concert, Kevin Richardson of the group dedicates their 2019 single, “No Place,” to Aaron, telling the crowd that the song was “very special to us because that song is about family.”

Nick became visibly emotional before his band member AJ hugged him. Other members of the band then joined in hugging him. In support, fans yelled, “we love you, Nick!”

“We lost one of our family members yesterday. Nick’s little brother, Aaron Carter passed away yesterday,” Kevin told the crowd.

Nick Carter, 42, shared a written tribute to Aaron on Instagram on Sunday after the child star was found dead in his California residence, reportedly in a bathtub.

Aaron was 34.

“My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded,” Nick wrote.

The older brother seemed to touch on Aaron’ struggles with mental health that he claim to struggle with while he was alive, adding;

“Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….God,Please take care of my baby brother.”
